No matter what you call it, dancing is good for your health. Your overall health!
Here are 5 reasons why:
It boosts your ability to think by activating the areas of the brain that control memory and skills such as planning and organizing. And by using the brain power that you need to dance you have to “focus” on the movements and patterns
Dance gets your heart pumping. It’s as beneficial a cardio workout. The physical benefits of this improves everything from circulation to flexibility
Improves balance and strength. The movement of dance engages your body from all planes including lateral, and rotational. This in turn conditions all muscles which increases not only strength but balance
It’s inclusive. If you can move, you can dance. You can do it out on the floor beside others or you can dance with a partner
It Social. You can have a girl’s night or guy’s night out dancing or even make it a date night out dancing
There are many forms of dancing:
Ballet – is great for footwork, timing and flexibility
Belly dance – is good for core, arms and hips
Hip-Hop – is good for posture and turns
And so much more. No matter what style of dance you choose, they are all beneficial. So, get moving at least 3 times a week and see how good you might feel!
